Ashok Kumar Mehta
Ashok Kumar Mehta (bansuri flute and tabla) comes from a long line of Varanasi family musicians, He learned the flute from his father and grandfather as well as from the renowned Bansuri player Rajendra Passanna. Ashok won the first prize in the Nehro festival at Youth Mohaosav Benares in 1995 and another first prize in the all-college competition in Varanasi. He earned a B. Mus degree from the Sahita Sammelan Illahabad Sangit Visharad in 1997. He has performed all over India and been invited on Gorakpur television and radio. He has many students from India as well as from all over the world. His flute is sublime and entrancing.
