Raho LangseppRaho Langsepp (born in Tartu in 1968) has for many years studied the history of bamboo flute in Oriental cultures and medieval European music. This has led him to interesting discoveries that he has put to use in his practice as a musician performing both medieval European and Oriental music. Over the years Raho Langsepp has participated in advanced classes taught by the greatest masters of their instruments, including W. Hazelet (baroque flute, the Netherlands), Ranjith Fernando (bamboo flute, Sri Lanka), Dan Laurin (recorder, Sweden) as well as many others. In 2001 Raho Langsepp became a student of V. Hemapala Perera (bamboo flute, Sri Lanka). He has been the organizer of Tartu Early Music Festival since 1996. Since 2000 Raho Langsepp is the President of CEFEMA (Central European Festivals of Early Music Association). He is also an active musician and music teacher, he is the head of the concert agency Festivitas Artium and the Centre for Early and Oriental Music, and he leads the early music consort FA Schola. |
